Once, Prime Minister of Nepal Pushpa Kamal Dahal, a.k.a. Prachanda, said, “I am accused of killing 17,000 people, which is not true. However, I am ready to take responsibility for killing 5,000 people during the conflict,” he said during the festival celebration event in Kathmandu on January 15, 2020, in Tundikhel.
He added that the rest of the 12,000 were killed by the King’s government, and they should be held accountable for the killings. Based on his statement, Advocate Gyanendra Aran and other victims of Maoist writ in the Supreme Court against Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda concerning the 10-year-long armed conflict-era cases on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. Previously, the same writ was declined by the court saying as a political attack on Prachanda on November 2022. The bench of Supreme Court Justices Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada and Hariprasad Phuyal ordered the registration. Three months have passed, and no progress has been made on this case.
The Supreme Court is just silent. In contrast, the president of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party, Ravi Lamichhane, a new political party did not get the same treatment when he had a problem with his dual citizenship. He was suspended from his position as home minister and house member when Yuvraj Safal filed a writ against Ravi Lamichhane about his dual citizenship. After the re-election, Ravi Lamichhane won with massive votes and regained power as the House of Representatives in the House Parliament. During Ravi’s ineligibility as a home minister, Prachanda himself held that office for months. He did not give the home minister’s office to anyone until he found someone who could work in his favor. Later, he gave the ministry to Narayan Kaji Shrestha, who has been a communist his whole life.
Prachanda is a power-hungry dictator who is willing to do anything or sacrifice anyone for his benefit. During the election campaign, he betrayed Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba. He indirectly uses people like Yuvraj Safal to remove Ravi Lamichhane from the home ministry so that he can avoid his case moving forward. Therefore, in the present context, Prachanda is a Prime Minister; Prachanda himself is a Court Justice; Prachanda is the law; and Prachanda is invincible! No one can go after him. Therefore, even after the writ was filed in March, no proper investigation has been initiated nor any action has been taken against him.
There is no future in the development of Nepal because a dictator like Prachanda holds office as prime minister. He is not qualified for any government office. He is a murderer and a shame to the world as the Prime Minister of Nepal. He must resign his position and eliminate his party, the party’s young wing, and go to jail for all the crimes he has committed. Many Nepalese daughters became widows; mothers lost their sons; fathers lost their daughters; family torn apart and many had to flee from the country because of his communist political ideology, youth wing, and war. Many victims are still suffering from mental and physical disabilities. He is unfit for Nepalese politics and the Nepal government office. He deserves punishment, not an office!
