The Poem: “Comparison”

Arjun Dahal

When I compared her

to the heavens:

her eyes twinkled like stars,

her face glowed like moon,

her voice sweeted like whispering wind.

What I missed

was a rainbow colour dress of her.

Alas! at night

rainbows can’t be seen

and in the cold darkness

I compared her naked.
